Torrey sat rigidly at her tiny Netbook typing away at the keys. The mad man stood behind her, watching her every move; with a shining blade pressed against her back. She was supposed to message someone important. But the man didn’t want to do it himself, wary that the receiver might be suspicious that it wasn’t her. It couldn’t be that hard to type like her.
“Can’t you go any faster?” His voice was full of impatience and irritation.
She ignored him and continued to type on. But as her fingers keyed out careful words, her mind traveled through dangerous thoughts.
What if he saw the code she was typing? What if the other didn’t translate it right? She could be stuck with this awful man until he eventually killed her.
Torrey desperately tried to push the thoughts away and focused on her code.
“Done” She spoke at last. Her fingers ached from her work. But it was worth it.
“Okay, then send it!” He snapped at her.
With a click, Torrey’s only hope of survival was sent out. Leaving her behind to wait for her fate.
