So what you are saying is sitting and staring at a TV for four quarters and watching a bunch of guys throw around balls into hoops, an event that in no way affects your life, is required in order to have a life? Or is it just debating over which one of the ball-throwers is superior, not that it even matters, is the requirement?

It's true. Football is for wimps. Same with American football which is also for wimps because THEY wear tons of body armor. Rugby players wear a shirt, some socks, shorts and shoes and maybe a little padding if they choose.
