Now I'm slightly less confused.

I'm on chapter 9 right now, and I absolutely HATE fighting the Kalavinka Striker. The first time is a no brainer, I use Lightning as a Ravenger, Hope as a Medic, and Fang as a Commando. However, the second fight is harder because I have only 30 potions and 4 phoenix downs. What's hard about it? Kalavinka Striker's instant death move, Hellstorm Bolt. -_-
I ALMOST beat it a minute ago, but then it used Hellstorm Bolt and killed Hope... For the fifth time.... And I nearly killed it with Fang and Lightning. It had about 3 thousand health left.... Final Fantasy is so unfair! DX

I literally forced myself to beat the game. Like I got myself up to chapter 11 and then put it away for a few months. The January before XIII-2 came out I decided I would finally beat it...which I proceeded to do.

I don't remember that boss too much. It probably didn't cause me much problems...until Chapter 12 the only bosses I ever really needed to restart on were the Eidolens. I didn't win a single Eidolen fight the first time...though I probably could have beat Snow's if I actually knew the strategy. Then Chapter 12 happened...and you were thrown into hard battle after hard battle.

The second to final boss is annoying too. I won't say much (because of no spoilers) but it has its own instant kill move and a move that literally locks you out from doing anything until it finishes the move.

The final final boss was actually super easy. It's supposed to be a sprint boss. I beat it in like a couple of minutes. I quickly staggered it and then killed it in one stagger. Five starred it too.

Orphan then the second Orphan. :P

Also, Snow's Eidolans are easy, just get chain bonuses and use sentinel. They yield to those who "amass chain bonuses and to those who defend."

Lightning's was a bit difficult for me, as Hope was not a sufficient healer. :P Sajz's was a bit hard. Yeah, I'm gonna try to beat the Kalavinka Striker tomorrow. The Final Fantasy Wiki has a strategy to kill it. I'm gonna follow that and see what happens.

Ok. So you know then. lol. First Orphan is a ******. It took me three tries to beat him...and they were all like over halfway in that I died. I didn't have anyone on my party that could poison him. Apparently that's his major weakness.

As for the second orphan. I did Relentless Assault and a little Diversity (if I was running low on health) until I staggered. Switched over to Evened Odds until I finished debuffing the staggered Orphan and then finally went all out to Aggression. AKA, I hit it until I could do damage and then debuffed, and then hit it until it died. If I had enough room from the other two battles I would have put on Bully instead of Evened Odds.

And yeah I read the strategy for Snow's...after I failed it twice. It was counter intuitive just to go to Sentinel and defend.

Lightning's, Sazh's, and Vanille's were the hardest for me. In fact, those were the three you only had two party members. I think I MIGHT have gotten Hope's and Fang's done in one or two tries by just following the guide. The other three the party members were too weak to do it. I know for Vanille's I went back and power leveled at this one spot until I got sufficiently high enough that it STILL took about a couple of tries to beat it.

Pretty much, there are much harder bosses coming. Oh god are there harder bosses.

Yeah, I'm power leveling and farming Gil and CP.

Once you get to chapter 11 there's a point where you can engage a Behemoth King fighting a Megistotherian. You always get a Pre-emptive strike. Their healths are half and so if you can stagger and keep the Behemoth in the air (a fairly easy job) you can make 6600 CP quite easily (like in a minute and a half or so)

Nice. At this moment, I've maxed out everyone's main role that I use the most.

*A legion of vampires approach the castle, the guards prepare their weapons but know not to attack on sight.*
