That is true but, for instance, I never had or really used text messaging...so I never bothered to learn any of that. In this case, refraining from doing text speak is something that offers a little courtesy to those that don't know about text speak. In the case of text messaging, you assume that your friend already knows it since he or she's also been doing the same.

Texting is also something generally done quicker than forum posting. Plus texting has a 140 character limit while forum posting doesn't. So you can get the same thing accomplished by taking your time and writing out the full words on these forums as you would while doing text speak but you'd also be a little more courteous to those that never really dealt with it before.

And texting is for phones.
